Anne Sullivan arrived at Keller's house in March 1887, and immediately began to teach Helen to communicate by spelling words into her hand, beginning with "d-o-l-l" for the doll that she had brought Keller as a present. Sony VGN-FZ31M Battery

Keller was frustrated, at first, because she did not understand that every object had a word uniquely identifying it. In fact, when Sullivan was trying to teach Keller the word for "mug", Keller became so frustrated she broke the doll.[13] Sony VGN-FZ31Z Battery

Keller's big breakthrough in communication came the next month, when she realized that the motions her teacher was making on the palm of her hand, while running cool water over her other hand, symbolized the idea of "water"; she then nearly exhausted Sullivan demanding the names of all the other familiar objects in her world. Sony VGN-FZ320E/B Battery

Due to a protruding left eye, Keller was usually photographed in profile. Both her eyes were replaced in adulthood with glass replicas for "medical and cosmetic reasons".[14] Sony VGN-FZ320EB Battery

Formal education

Starting in May, 1888, Keller attended the Perkins Institute for the Blind. In 1894, Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan moved to New York to attend the Wright-Humason School for the Deaf, and to learn from Sarah Fuller at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf. Sony VGN-FZ32B Battery

In 1896, they returned to Massachusetts and Keller entered The Cambridge School for Young Ladies before gaining admittance, in 1900, to Radcliffe College, where she lived in Briggs Hall, South House. Her admirer, Mark Twain, had introduced her to Standard Oil magnate Henry Huttleston Rogers, who, with his wife Abbie,Sony VGN-FZ340E/B Battery

paid for her education. In 1904, at the age of 24, Keller graduated from Radcliffe, becoming the first deaf blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. She maintained a correspondence with the Austrian philosopher and pedagogue Wilhelm Jerusalem, who was one of the first to discover her literary talent.[15]Sony VGN-FZ340E Battery

Determined to communicate with others as conventionally as possible, Keller learned to speak, and spent much of her life giving speeches and lectures. She learned to "hear" people's speech by reading their lips with her hands—her sense of touch had become extremely supple. She became proficient at using Braille and reading sign language with her hands as well.[volume & issue needed] Sony VGN-FZ340N Battery

Anne Sullivan stayed as a companion to Helen Keller long after she taught her. Anne married John Macy in 1905, and her health started failing around 1914. Polly Thompson was hired to keep house. She was a young woman from Scotland who had no experience with deaf or blind people. She progressed to working as a secretary as well, and eventually became a constant companion to Keller.[16] Sony VGN-FZ345E/B Battery

Keller moved to Forest Hills, Queens, together with Anne and John, and used the house as a base for her efforts on behalf of the American Foundation for the Blind.[17] Sony VGN-FZ345E Battery

After Sullivan died in 1936, Keller and Thompson moved to Connecticut. They traveled worldwide and raised funds for the blind. Thompson had a stroke in 1957 from which she never fully recovered, and died in 1960.[1] Sony VGN-FZ345EB Battery

Winnie Corbally, a nurse who was originally brought in to care for Thompson in 1957, stayed on after her death and was Keller's companion for the rest of her life.[1] Sony VGN-FZ348E/B Battery

Political activities

Keller went on to become a world-famous speaker and author. She is remembered as an advocate for people with disabilities, amid numerous other causes. She was a suffragist, a pacifist, an opponent of Woodrow Wilson, a radical socialist and a birth control supporter. Sony VGN-FZ348E Battery

In 1915 she and George Kessler founded the Helen Keller International (HKI) organization. This organization is devoted to research in vision, health and nutrition. In 1920 she helped to found the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Sony VGN-FZ348EB Battery

Keller traveled to 40 some-odd countries with Sullivan, making several trips to Japan and becoming a favorite of the Japanese people. Keller met every U.S. President from Grover Cleveland to Lyndon B. Johnson and was friends with many famous figures, Sony VGN-FZ35 Battery

including Alexander Graham Bell, Charlie Chaplin and Mark Twain. Keller and Mark Twain were both considered radicals at the beginning of the 20th century, and as a consequence, their political views have been forgotten or glossed over in popular perception.[19] Sony VGN-FZ37 Battery

Keller was a member of the Socialist Party and actively campaigned and wrote in support of the working class from 1909 to 1921. She supported Socialist Party candidate Eugene V. Debs in each of his campaigns for the presidency. Sony VGN-FZ38 Battery

Newspaper columnists who had praised her courage and intelligence before she expressed her socialist views now called attention to her disabilities. The editor of the Brooklyn Eagle wrote that her "mistakes sprung out of the manifest limitations of her development." Keller responded to that editor, referring to having met him before he knew of her political views: Sony VGN-FZ390 Battery
Keller joined the Industrial Workers of the World (known as the IWW or the Wobblies) in 1912,[19] saying that parliamentary socialism was "sinking in the political bog".
Sony VGN-FZ390EBB Battery

She wrote for the IWW between 1916 and 1918. In Why I Became an IWW,[21] Keller explained that her motivation for activism came in part from her concern about blindness and other disabilities:
The last sentence refers to prostitution and syphilis, the former a frequent cause of the latter, and the latter a leading cause of blindness.
 Sony VGN-FZ4000 Battery

I was appointed on a commission to investigate the conditions of the blind. For the first time I, who had thought blindness a misfortune beyond human control, found that too much of it was traceable to wrong industrial conditions, often caused by the selfishness and greed of employers. And the social evil contributed its share. I found that poverty drove women to a life of shame that ended in blindness. Sony VGN-FZ410E/B Battery

At that time the compliments he paid me were so generous that I blush to remember them. But now that I have come out for socialism he reminds me and the public that I am blind and deaf and especially liable to error.Sony VGN-FZ410E Battery

I must have shrunk in intelligence during the years since I met him...Oh, ridiculous Brooklyn Eagle! Socially blind and deaf, it defends an intolerable system, a system that is the cause of much of the physical blindness and deafness which we are trying to prevent.[20] Sony VGN-FZ410EB Battery

Keller wrote a total of 12 published books and several articles.

One of her earliest pieces of writing, at age 11, was The Frost King (1891). There were allegations that this story had been plagiarized from The Frost Fairies by Margaret Canby. An investigation into the matter revealed that Keller may have experienced a case of cryptomnesia, which was that she had Canby's story read to her but forgot about it, while the memory remained in her subconscious.[1] Sony VGN-FZ420E Battery

At age 22, Keller published her autobiography, The Story of My Life (1903), with help from Sullivan and Sullivan's husband, John Macy. It includes words that Keller wrote and the story of her life up to age 21, and was written during her time in college. Sony VGN-FZ430E/B Battery

Keller wrote The World I Live In in 1908 giving readers an insight into how she felt about the world.[22]Out of the Dark, a series of essays on socialism, was published in 1913. Sony VGN-FZ430E Battery

When Keller was young, Anne Sullivan introduced her to Phillips Brooks, who introduced her to Christianity, Keller famously saying: "I always knew He was there, but I didn't know His name!"[23][24][25] Sony VGN-FZ430EB Battery

Her spiritual autobiography, My Religion, was published in 1927 and then in 1994 extensively revised and re-issued under the title Light in My Darkness. Sony VGN-FZ440E Battery

It advocates the teachings of Emanuel Swedenborg, the Christian revelator and theologian who gives a spiritual interpretation of the teachings of the Bible and who claims that the second coming of Jesus Christ has already taken place. Adherents use several names to describe themselves, including Second Advent Christian, Swedenborgian and New Church. Sony VGN-FZ440N Battery

Akita dog

When Keller visited Akita Prefecture in Japan in July 1937, she inquired about Hachikō, the famed Akita dog that had died in 1935. She told a Japanese person that she would like to have an Akita dog; one was given to her within a month, with the name of Kamikaze-go. Sony VGN-FZ445E/B Battery

When he died of canine distemper, his older brother, Kenzan-go, was presented to her as an official gift from the Japanese government in July 1938. Keller is credited with having introduced the Akita to the United States through these two dogs. Sony VGN-FZ445E Battery

Later life

Keller suffered a series of strokes in 1961 and spent the last years of her life at her home.[1]

On September 14, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, one of the United States' two highest civilian honors. In 1965 she was elected to the National Women's Hall of Fame at the New York World's Fair.[1] Sony VGN-FZ445EB Battery

Keller devoted much of her later life to raising funds for the American Foundation for the Blind. She died in her sleep on June 1, 1968, at her home, Arcan Ridge, located in Easton, Connecticut. A service was held in her honor at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and her ashes were placed there next to her constant companions, Anne Sullivan and Polly Thompson. Sony VGN-FZ455E/B Battery

Keller's life has been interpreted many times. She appeared in a silent film, Deliverance (1919), which told her story in a melodramatic, allegorical style.[28] Sony VGN-FZ455E Battery

She was also the subject of the documentaries Helen Keller in Her Story, narrated by Katharine Cornell, andThe Story of Helen Keller, part of the Famous Americans series produced by Hearst Entertainment. Sony VGN-FZ455EB Battery

The Miracle Worker is a cycle of dramatic works ultimately derived from her autobiography, The Story of My Life. The various dramas each describe the relationship between Keller and Sullivan, depicting how the teacher led her from a state of almost feral wildness into education, activism, and intellectual celebrity.Sony VGN-FZ460E/B Battery

The common title of the cycle echoes Mark Twain's description of Sullivan as a "miracle worker." Its first realization was the 1957 Playhouse 90 teleplay of that title by William Gibson. He adapted it for a Broadway production in 1959 and an Oscar-winning feature film in 1962, starring Anne Bancroft and Patty Duke. It was remade for television in 1979 and 2000. Sony VGN-FZ460E Battery

In 1984, Helen Keller's life story was made into a TV movie called The Miracle Continues.[29] This film that entailed the semi-sequel to The Miracle Worker recounts her college years and her early adult life. None of the early movies hint at the social activism that would become the hallmark of Keller's later life, although a Disney version produced in 2000 states in the credits that she became an activist for social equality.Sony VGN-FZ460EB Battery

The Bollywood movie Black (2005) was largely based on Keller's story, from her childhood to her graduation. A documentary called Shining Soul: Helen Keller's Spiritual Life and Legacy was produced by the Swedenborg Foundation in the same year. Sony VGN-FZ470E Battery

The film focuses on the role played by Emanuel Swedenborg's spiritual theology in her life and how it inspired Keller's triumph over her triple disabilities of blindness, deafness and a severe speech impediment. Sony VGN-FZ470EB Battery

On March 6, 2008, the New England Historic Genealogical Society announced that a staff member had discovered a rare 1888 photograph showing Helen and Anne, which, although previously published, had escaped widespread attention.[30] Depicting Helen holding one of her many dolls, it is believed to be the earliest surviving photograph of Anne.[31] Sony VGN-FZ480E/B Battery

Posthumous honors

In 2003, Alabama honored its native daughter on its state quarter.[32]

The Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Alabama is dedicated to her.[33]

There are streets named after Helen Keller in Getafe, Spain, in Lod, Israel[34] and in Lisbon, Portugal.[35]Sony VGN-FZ480E Battery

A preschool for the deaf and hard of hearing in Mysore, India, was originally named after Helen Keller by its founder K. K. Srinivasan. Sony VGN-FZ480EB Battery

On October 7, 2009, a bronze statue of Helen Keller was added to the National Statuary Hall Collection, as a replacement for the State of Alabama's former 1908 statue of the education reformer Jabez Lamar Monroe Curry. It is displayed in the United States Capitol Visitor Center and depicts Keller as a seven-year-old child standing at a water pump. Sony VGN-FZ485U/B Battery

The statue represents the seminal moment in Keller's life when she understood her first word: W-A-T-E-R, as signed into her hand by teacher Anne Sullivan. The pedestal base bears a quotation in raised letters and Braille characters: Sony VGN-FZ485U Battery

"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart."[36] The statue is the first one of a person with a disability and of a child to be permanently displayed at the U.S. Capitol.[37][38][39] Sony VGN-FZ485UB Battery

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Caroline Beckham (née Adams; born 17 April 1974)[1][2] is an English fashion designer, businesswoman and former singer. In the late 1990s, Beckham rose to fame with the all-female pop group Spice Girls and was dubbed Posh Spice by the July 1996 issue of the British pop music magazine Top of the Pops.[3] Sony VGN-FZ490 Battery

Since the Spice Girls split, she has had a solo pop music career, scoring four UK Top 10 singles. Her first single to be released, "Out of Your Mind", reached Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart and is her highest chart entry to date. During her solo career, she has been signed to Virgin Records and Telstar Records. Sony VGN-FZ490EAB Battery

Beckham has found more success as an internationally recognised and photographed style icon. Her career in fashion includes designing a line of jeans for Rock & Republic and later designing her own denim brand, dVb Style. Beckham has brought out her own range of sunglasses and fragrance, Sony VGN-FZ50B Series Battery

entitled Intimately Beckham, which has been released in the UK and the US. In association with the Japanese store Samantha Thavasa and Shiatzy Chen, she has produced a range of handbags and jewellery. In addition, Beckham has released two best-selling books; one her autobiography, the other a fashion guide. Sony VGN-FZ50B Battery

In her television ventures, Beckham has participated in five official documentaries and reality shows about her, including Being Victoria BeckhamThe Real Beckhams, and Victoria Beckham: Coming to America. She has since made a cameo appearance in an episode of American TV series Ugly Betty, and been a guest judge onProject RunwayGermany's Next Topmodel, and American Idol. Sony VGN-FZ51B Battery

She is married to David Beckham and they have four children, Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James, Cruz David, and Harper Seven. As of 2009, the couple's joint wealth is estimated at £125 million.[4] Sony VGN-FZ52B Battery

Early life

Beckham was born at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, Essex and raised in Goffs Oak, Hertfordshire.[5] She is the second child of three children born to Jacqueline and Anthony Adams. Her father worked as an electronics engineer,[5] Sony VGN-FZ52B2 Battery

and he later founded an electronics wholesale business which allowed a comfortable upbringing for Victoria and her siblings,[1] sister Louise and brother Christian Adams.[6] Sony VGN-FZ61B Battery

Beckham attended St. Mary's High School in Cheshunt. She was embarrassed by her family's wealth and often begged her father not to drop her off outside the school in their Rolls Royce.[7] Beckham was frequently bullied and often felt treated like an outsider. She later explained that she had never made any friends and the other children would throw rocks at her.[8] Sony VGN-FZ62B Battery

In 1980, when Beckham was 7 years old, she watched the musical Fame and subsequently made the decision to pursue a music career.[9][10] Jacqueline and Anthony Adams enrolled her at Jason Theatre School.[1] In 1991, Beckham attended Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, Surrey and studied dance and modelling.[1][2] Eventually, she became a member of a band called Persuasion.[11]

Beckham auditioned for a March 1993 advertisement in The Stage which required girls who were "street smart, extrovert, ambitious and able to sing and dance".[5] In 1994, Beckham joined the all-female group, the Spice Girls. Sony VGN-FZ70B Series Battery

In the recordings before her marriage, she is credited with her maiden name as Victoria Adams. The group's first single was called "Wannabe" (1996), and she worked alongside Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm. Sony VGN-FZ70B Battery

It went to number one in the United Kingdom and United States, and another 29 countries. It was followed by nine further number one singles from their albums SpiceSpiceworld and Forever.[2] Each member of the group received a nickname from the media. Beckham was named "Posh Spice".[Sony VGN-FZ71B Battery

The group was one of the most successful pop acts of the 1990s, selling over fifty-five million records worldwide.[14] After the release of their third album, Forever (UK number 2), which was far less successful than their previous two albums, the Spice Girls stopped recording, leading Beckham to try to build a solo career.[citation needed] Sony VGN-FZ72B Battery

In 2007, the Spice Girls reformed and announced plans to embark upon a reunion tour,[14] from which they were said to have earned £10 million each (approximately $20 million).[15] Victoria had previously stated that she and her former Spice colleagues were enjoying their solo careers in various fields, saying "We're all still doing our own thing. Sony VGN-FZ90HS Series Battery

"[16] Their "Greatest Hits" album was released in early November 2007 and the tour began on 2 December 2007. At its advent, Beckham said "I wanted my children to see that Mummy was a pop star. It was the last opportunity for them to stand in a crowd full of people screaming for the Spice Girls."[17] Sony VGN-FZ90HS Battery

When Beckham had her hair coloured brown for the tour, she stated that her sons immediately reacted by saying "Oh my goodness, it's Posh Spice. She's back."[18] During one Spice Girls performance at London's The O2 Arena, her three sons accompanied her on stage during "Mama", along with the other Spice Girls' children.[19] Sony VGN-FZ90NS Series Battery

She was the only member of the group not to sing a solo song on the tour, instead posing in the style of a fashion show on a makeshift catwalk, whereas the others each performed a number from their solo careers.[20]Sony VGN-FZ90NS Battery

Polly Hudson wrote: "This time around Posh gets the biggest cheer when she sings her solo lines. She knows it too – and it seems to give her more and more confidence as the show goes on."[21] Sony VGN-FZ90S Series Battery

Film-maker Bob Smeaton directed an official film of the tour entitled Spice Girls: Giving You Everything, which was first aired on Fox8 in Australia. It later aired in the UK on 31 December 2007 on BBC One.[22] As well as their sell-out tour, the Spice Girls were contracted to appear in Tesco advertisements, for which they were paid £1 million each.[23] Sony VGN-FZ90S Battery

Victoria Beckham solo album

On 14 August 2000, Beckham released her first solo single, "Out of Your Mind" in collaboration with Dane Bowers and Truesteppers.[5] The week of release coincided with the release of "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" by Spiller featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor, resulting in a chart battle dubbed 'Posh vs. Posher' by the tabloids.[24] Sony VGN-FZ91HS Battery

Following a huge publicity campaign, "Out Of Your Mind" was outsold by Ellis-Bextor, and debuted at Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart.[25] Before the single's release, on 8 July 2000, Beckham made her public solo debut at London's Hyde Park at a concert to raise money for the Prince's Trust charity. She sang "Out of Your Mind" to a 100,000-strong audience.[26] Sony VGN-FZ91NS Battery

Beckham then signed a recording contract with her group label Virgin Records.[2] Her next single as a solo artist, "Not Such An Innocent Girl", was released on 17 September 2001.[1] Again, she faced competition in another hugely hyped chart battle, Sony VGN-FZ91S Battery

this time with Kylie Minogue's single "Can't Get You Out Of My Head".[27] Despite a huge promotional campaign, Beckham was outsold eight to one, and her single debuted at number 6.[28] Beckham's eponymous debut album, which was released on 1 October 2001, reached Number 10 in the UK album chart.[29] The album cost a reputed £5 million to produce and it sold a modest 50,000 copies.[30] Sony VGN-FZ92HS Battery

The second and final single to be released from the album was "A Mind of Its Own" on 11 February 2002. The single reached number 6 in the UK[31] and sold 56,500 copies.[32] Rumours soon spread that Beckham was to be dropped by her label for not charting in the Top Three. Sony VGN-FZ92NS Battery

These were strongly refuted at the time.[33] Beckham commented "You know what newspapers are like, they just like to put all the negative stuff in, but as far as I'm concerned and the record company is concerned it is all great."[33] Sony VGN-FZ92S Battery

A third single, "I Wish", was promoted but never materialised. The single version was a remix featuring Robbie Craig, and was performed on TV on Friday Night's All Wright.[34] Following the announcement of Beckham's second pregnancy, the single was shelved. Sony PCG-61713T Battery

Beckham and Virgin Records went their separate ways;[35][36] a statement from her publicist read: "No-one has been dropped. The Virgin deal has come to a natural end and both parties have decided not to continue."[35] Sony VPCCA16EC Battery

Open Your Eyes

In 2002, Telstar Records signed Beckham in a deal made with 19 Management[30] worth £1.5 million.[2] Beckham spent much of that year recording a pop-influenced album called Open Your Eyes, which yielded the single "Let Your Head Go", but she allegedly chose not to release it after being disappointed with the results.[37][38] Sony VPCCA17EC Battery

Instead of pop, Beckham wanted a more urban sound, working with urban producer Damon Dash for a more RnB and hip hop influence.[30][31] When he was first asked why he was working with Beckham he stated "Because I see how much she gets photographed over here."[2] Sony VPCCA18EC Battery

A Dash-produced track "It's That Simple" featuring M.O.P. premiered on radio stations in July 2003,[31] generating mixed reviews.[31] Beckham's first single with Telstar, "Let Your Head Go / This Groove",[31]Sony VPCCA26EC Battery

was released in the UK on 29 December 2003, following heavy promotion and many TV appearances across the Christmas period with the video being directed by Andy Hylton. The single charted at Number 3 in the UK.[31]Sony VPCCA27EC Battery

This double A-side lifted "Let Your Head Go" from Beckham's earlier pop-inspired work with "This Groove" one of her Hip-Hop/R'n'B songs and remains Beckham's last single release to date. She is currently the only Spice Girl never to have had a UK solo number one, though she is also the only Spice Girl to have all her single/album releases go Top 10.[citation needed] Sony VPCCA28EC Battery

Outside of the UK, Damon Dash had plans for Beckham in the US, including a potential release of "Let Your Head Go / This Groove" under the name of "Posh Spice Victoria Beckham". The release was proposed for sometime between March to May 2004, but never eventuated.[39] Sony VPCCB17EC Battery

With the UK media describing her solo music career a failure, combined with a rumoured fall-out between Dash and Fuller, her hip hop album, Come Together, was not released.[1][40] Beckham's fourth and last attempt at a solo career came with the announcement of a new single "My Love Is for Real", in which she ditched the attempt at urban music and went back to pop. Sony VPCCB18EC Battery

This never materialized, and amidst the collapse of Telstar, remaining plans for Beckham's music career were cancelled.[41][42] Beckham is the only Spice Girl to have all of her singles and albums chart in the Top 10 of the UK charts, but she also has released fewer albums (1) and singles (4).[citation needed] Sony VPCCB26EC Battery

Post-music career

On 13 September 2001, Beckham released her first book, Learning to Fly.[43] The title was taken from a line in a song from the musical Fame, which Beckham had enjoyed as a child. The verse that inspired the title is: "I'm gonna live forever, I'm gonna learn how to fly".[44] Sony VPCCB28EC Battery

The autobiography documents her childhood, time during the Spice Girls, her marriage and family life, as well as her career at the time.[45] Learning to Fly became the third best-selling non-fiction title of 2001 and the total UK sales stand at more than 500,000 copies.[46] Sony VPCEG16EC Battery

When the book was first released, it went to Number 1 in the book charts after four weeks of release, relegating Robbie Williams' book to second place.[28] A high-profile guest appearance on Parkinson, watched by nine million people, helped to promote the book.[28] Sony VPCEG18EC Battery

Hello! The Daily Mail and The Mail on Sunday joined to buy the rights to preview and serialise the book before its publication. The figure paid was thought to be near £1 million.[11] Sony VPCEH16EC Battery

Beckham was quoted by a Spanish journalist in 2005 as saying "I've never read a book in my life".[47] She later claimed this was a mistranslation from the original Spanish in which the interview was printed, saying she actually stated that she never had time to finish reading a book because she was always too busy looking after her children.[48] Sony VPCEL15EC Battery

Beckham's second book, a fashion advice guide, entitled That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything In Between, was published on 27 October 2006.[49] That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything In Between includes tips from Beckham on fashion, style and beauty,[49] and also contains photography by Mario Testino, Dell T117C Battery

Beckham has shot five official documentaries. The first, dated 11 January 2000, was called Victoria's Secrets, a programme only shown in the UK on Channel 4. It involved Beckham being followed by cameras while also discussing and interviewing other British celebrities, such as Elton John.[52] The second, Being Victoria BeckhamDell P726C Battery

was broadcast in March 2002 and saw Beckham discussing her career as a solo artist with the release of her first album, and also showed her at various photo shoots and recording sessions. The documentary attracted a strong audience of 8.83 million,[53] coming top in its timeslot.[54] Dell 0P891C Battery

One critic described her as "so clearly level-headed, happy with her not inconsiderable lot and seemingly unfazed by the madly intrusive nature of her monumentally ridiculous fame".[55] The third, Dell 0T555C Battery

It also featured Victoria Beckham re-launching her solo career and showed her mocking the tabloid stories she reads in the paper every day. The special received an audience of 6.10 million viewers[56] and was later released on DVD on 2 February 2004.[57] Dell 312-0773 Battery

The fourth was entitled Full Length & Fabulous: The Beckhams' 2006 World Cup Party, and followed Victoria and David Beckham organising and making preparations to host a 2006 World Cup Party at a marquee in the grounds of their mansion in Hertfordshire, which aimed to raise money for their charity.[58] Dell P891C Battery

Two tickets to attend the ball were auctioned on-line for charity, and sold for £103,000.[59] The documentary aired on 28 May 2006 and showed the event itself, where the menu was designed especially by friend and chef Gordon Ramsay and the charity auction was hosted by Graham Norton.[60] Ramsay catered for 600 guests, with the aid of 40 chefs and 100 waiting staff.[60] The ITV documentary attracted an average of 7.56 million viewers.[61] Dell T555C Battery

To document Victoria Beckham's preparations for her family's move to the US, she signed a deal with NBC for six episodes of a half-hour unscripted reality TV series. The programme was the third-most-watched programme in its time-slot and received viewing figures of 4.9 million in the US, beaten by a repeat of Wife Swap and two sitcoms.[63] The programme aired in Britain on 17 July 2007 on ITV with 3.84 million viewers tuning in.[64] The programme was produced by Simon Fuller who managed her and the Spice Girls on their come-back tour.[65] Dell U011C Battery
